Manchester United fans delighted by performance against Tottenham Hotspur

Manchester United supporters were thrilled as they saw their side put in arguably their best performance of the season against top four rival Tottenham Hotspur.

United desperately needed a win at the start of a crucial run of league games and looked determined to make up for their elimination from the FA Cup.

Despite a nervy start, United soon took control and played with a tempo and desire that at times has been missing during Louis van Gaal‘s first season at the club.

A fine finish from Marouane Fellaini as well as first half goals from Michael Carrick and Wayne Rooney saw United lead by three at the break and the fans were as happy as they’ve been all season.

United took their foot off the gas in the second half and simply went through the motions ahead of the next big game at Liverpool in a week’s time.

There was time for Andreas Pereira to make his Premier League debut, replacing Juan Mata whilst Radamel Falcao also made a return to the team for the final ten minutes.

The visitors rarely troubled United as the game fizzled out but there was also a return to the first team for Rafael in the final five minutes as Van Gaal gave chances to a few of the players struggling for game time under the new boss.
