David de Gea 7 Had to be aware early on to stop a poor back pass, was then untested until the 89th minute.

Antonio Valencia 6 Solid game after his error on Monday, didn’t let it get to him and played very well.

Chris Smalling 8 Was absolutely superb today. Looked comfortable on the ball and defended Kane out of the game alongside Jones.

Phil Jones 7 Also had a very solid match bar a few early hiccups. Looked composed and made some very good tackles.

Daley Blind 7 Did very well at left back after struggling against Arsenal. Defended well and attacked even better.

Michael Carrick 8 A top class performance, brilliant to have him back. Lovely assist and a well placed header, key to United’s win.

Marouane Fellaini 8 Scored a really well taken opener and caused chaos all afternoon, a potential man of the match performance from the Belgian.

Ander Herrera 7 Linked beautifully with Juan Mata today, did the simple job and got stuck in, good performance.

Juan Mata 7 A welcome return to the side and a great performance to match, showed all the class United fans know he has.

Ashley Young 7 Caused Kyle Walker all sorts of problems in the first half and continued his good form. A refreshing season for him.

Wayne Rooney 8 The captain delivered the knockout to make it 3-0. Ran through Spurs and was superb all afternoon.


Andreas Pereira N/A Great to get his Premier League debut but game was dead by his arrival.

Radamel Falcao N/A Also had no time to make an impact as United had taken their foot off the gas.

Rafael N/A 5 minutes but good to see him back, even if it appears his future appears elsewhere.
