Paulo Dybala to stay in Italy despite Manchester United interest

by Ben Topliss

Paulo Dybala’s transfer saga has rumbled on after reports from Gianluca Di Marzio suggested that the player’s entourage told Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini he wanted to stay in Serie A.

The Argentine has taken Italy’s elite league by storm this season, scoring 12 goals and registering seven assists in 26 appearances.

As a result, Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Barcelona are all rumoured to be vying for his services.

It appears Dybala will be staying in Italy however after these latest developments. Juventus are favourites to sign the youngster, ahead of Inter Milan, Napoli and Roma.

The news will come as a blow to Louis van Gaal, who had hoped to breath some life into his ailing strikeforce.

Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao look to be over the hill while James Wilson has been in and out of the first-team.

However, Wayne Rooney has flourished since being moved back up front after spending a number of weeks in midfield. Unfortunately for Dybala, it looks like he will never fulfil his dream of lining up alongside Marouane Fellaini and Jonny Evans.
