Both players had vital roles to play in the 3-0 win on Sunday but it was Fellaini who was named Man of the Match for what was arguably his best game for Manchester United.
The Belgian midfielder opened the scoring with a well placed left-footed finish and followed it up with an assist for Michael Carrick not long after. Within 18 minutes, Fellaini had a goal and an assist to his name.
Fellaini’s renaissance under Louis van Gaal has been one of the biggest surprises of the season and going into the derby this weekend against Liverpool, he’s likely to be one of the first names on the team sheet.
As for Jones, apart from a shaky opening five minutes, he established a solid partnership with Chris Smalling at the heart of defence. Spurs might not have thrown much at United but when they did, Jones helped sweep it up without a problem.
If Marcos Rojo is available for selection this weekend, van Gaal has a choice to make and whether he will keep the Englishman in his starting XI.
