Patrice Evra reaches consecutive Champions League quarter-finals

Manchester United fans and players alike can only watch the UEFA Champions League with envy this season but old boy Patrice Evra is right in the thick of it.

Juventus beat Borussia Dortmund 3-0 in the Westfalenstadion to book their place in the quarter-final of the competition and Evra played his part in the win.

Two United old boys were involved in the opening goal as Evra squared the ball for Carlos Tevez to lash home an unstoppable drive and the Argentinian scored another and created one more in the 3-0 win.

So, while Man United aren’t in Europe, Evra has been keeping himself busy and can now look forward to a consecutive Champions League quarter-final spot, albeit with Juventus instead of United.

Evra will have to pull something very special out of the bag in Juventus’ quarter-final if he is to create a more memorable moment than his goal away to Bayern Munich for United last year. Those 30 seconds after his goal was without doubt the best moment in an awful season under David Moyes.
