Manchester United’s Angel di Maria asks agent to find him a new club – report

Manchester United midfielder Angel di Maria has instructed his agent Jorge Mendes to find him a move away from Old Trafford in the summer, according to reports in Spain covered by the Express.

Di Maria joined Man United in a £59m move last summer and enjoyed a fine start to life in England, scoring three goals in five games but things haven’t completely gone to plan since then, especially in his last few appearances for the club.

Against both Sunderland and Newcastle, Di Maria was substituted early by van Gaal and he was red carded after a petulant decision to pull the referee’s shirt, something which put a dampener on what was actually quite a good performance from him.

Despite Di Maria, on more than one occasion, insisting he is than happy in Manchester and van Gaal saying something very similar, the Express report he wants to leave the club.

The majority of United fans think Di Maria is just going through a blip and that he will soon get back to his best form. Even the best players in the world suffer from dips in forms and what Di Maria showed at the start of the season with his performances was just how impressive he can be when on form.

Having sat out the 3-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur through suspension, Di Maria is in line to return to the starting XI straight away against Liverpool this weekend and if he does come back into the team, fans will be keen to see something special from the club’s record signing.
