Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal was involved in a fall-out with club-record signing Angel di Maria following the 2-1 victory over Liverpool last weekend, according to the Manchester Evening News.
Van Gaal introduced Di Maria as a second-half substitute during the match and the Argentine set up Juan Mata for his second goal before providing the pass which led to Man United’s last gasp penalty.
Despite this, van Gaal was unhappy with Di Maria’s overall contribution and gave him a berating in the dressing room after the game.
The 27-year-old is said to be keen on leaving United this summer after a tough season and the episode has added to his frustrations.
The ADM fallout with LVG story after Liverpool game is true from what I hear. I love Di Maria but Utd need players with their heart in it.

Di Maria is undoubtedly a quality player but he hasn’t really done too much to justify his £59m transfer fee. A fantastic start to the season saw the player score three goals in five games but the Argentine has suffered a dramatic downturn in form since then.
It is difficult to pinpoint exactly where it has gone wrong for Di Maria. He still provides moments of quality during games even when quiet as the Liverpool game shows but van Gaal has shown he is a hugely demanding manager during his spell at United.
There are plenty of questions which will be asked following these latest reports and although Di Maria only joined last year, at this stage there is no guarantee he will be a United player next season.
