Memphis Depay is receiving guidance on improving his game from former Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy.
Van Nistelrooy joined the Netherlands as an assistant coach last year and has been working with Depay during the international break.
The 21-year-old, who has scored 17 goals in 24 league appearances for PSV Eindhoven this term, has been strongly linked with a move to Man United in the summer.
Depay explained that he watches his previous games with van Nistelrooy in order to see where he can improve.
Speaking about van Nistelrooy, Depay said: ”We look at what can be improved. Finishing for example. To sit and talk with Ruud motivates me about football.”
Many fans will be hoping van Nistelrooy also spoke about life at United during his conversations with Depay.
The striker is widely considered to be one of the best to ever play for United having scored a remarkable 150 goals in 219 appearances. Van Nistelrooy is rightly idolised at Old Trafford and hopefully he will play his part in convincing Depay to move to the club. Louis van Gaal may also be in Depay’s thinking as the pair worked together while the 63-year-old was in charge of the Netherlands at the 2014 World Cup.
