Radamel Falcao back among the goals and looking happier with Colombia

by Sam Peoples

Radamel Falcao does look like an altogether different player when he is away on international duty with Colombia.

His brace against Bahrain blew off the cobwebs which had collected in his shooting boots and got back to what he knows best by scoring two goals.

Although Bahrain are very poor opposition in terms of quality, any goals will help him and both goals were taken very well (click here to see Falcao’s goals against Bahrain).

Falcao was understandably delighted with his goals and the overall result, so he sent a message to fans after the victory:

It’s more than just about the goals when it comes to Falcao being back with Colombia because he simply looks happier in himself and his football.

Is it because he can relate to Colombia coach Jose Pekerman more because he feels that trust between the pair? Potentially, or maybe it simply could be stepping away from the pressures in Manchester allows him to release himself.

Falcao’s goals against Bahrain are not the answer to his problems at United but what does a goalscorer need to re-find his confidence? Goal, and his two so far away with Colombia (along with an assist) will help push him in the right direction.
