Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has been nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month award for March.

Fellaini has enjoyed his finest run of form in a Man United shirt having played a key role in the team’s victories over Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.

Against Spurs, the Belgian grabbed United’s vital opening goal with a neat finish with his weaker foot before setting up Michael Carrick for the team’s second on the way to a 3-0 win.

He followed that up by putting in a superb display against Liverpool in which he dominated the midfield and won almost all of his aerial duels.

Fellaini is up against Olivier Giroud, Francis Coquelin, Gabriel Agbonlahor, Harry Kane and Jordan Henderson for the award.

Often the butt of jokes at United last season, Fellaini has completely turned his fortunes around under Louis van Gaal.

The 27-year-old will likely be one of the first names on the team sheet for the game against Aston Villa this weekend, such is his importance to United’s play. Although he is up against some tough opposition, it would be no surprise to see him pick up the award.
