The agent of Kevin de Bruyne has confirmed there has been informal contact from several clubs over the future of the midfielder but insisted there are no firm offers for him.
Wolfsburg playmaker De Bruyne has enjoyed a fine season in the Bundesliga having registered 16 assists and nine goals in 26 league appearances.
His form has led to speculation over where his future lies with Bayern Munich strongly linked with a move for the 23-year-old in recent weeks.
De Bruyne’s agent, Patrick de Koster, denied rumours the player had already agreed a transfer but revealed some teams had been checking up on his progress.
Speaking about De Bruyne, De Koster said: “There are always interested teams and there has been some informal contact.
“People have asked me how Kevin is doing, how he has been developing superbly and putting in good performances. That is only normal in situations like this. There have not been any concrete offers, though.”
“I can assure you there have not been any talks with Bayern Munich. When you want to know whether Bayern are interested in signing Kevin, you should ask [sporting director] Matthias Sammer or [technical director] Michael Reschke. It is true that I have worked with Reschke before, but that does not mean anything now.
“We will sit down with Wolfsburg first, that is a matter of respect. They supported Kevin during a difficult period, when he was unhappy at Chelsea.”
Manchester United aren’t exactly short in De Bruyne’s position but Louis van Gaal will know you can never have too many good players.
However, the Dutchman will be aware of De Bruyne’s poor spell at Stamford Bridge with Chelsea. He only made three appearances for the club having been sent out on loan to Werder Bremen in 2012. Unfortunately, there are some players who simply can’t adapt to life in the Premier League.
