Nani will wait until returning to Manchester United before making a decision on his future.
The 28-year-old is currently on a season long loan at Sporting Lisbon where he has recaptured some of his old form which has led to plenty of speculation as to whether he will be given a fresh chance at Man United.
While there is no confirmation of that at this stage, Nani remains contracted to United and will return when his loan ends.
“I have a contract with Man United, so I’ve to go back to introduce myself,” Nani said.
“Then we’ll see what happens.”
Van Gaal will certainly be on the lookout for wingers in the summer window and in that sense Nani has a good opportunity so show he can fill that role.
However, somebody as individualistic as Nani is almost certain to have clashes with van Gaal because there aren’t many footballers who can frustrate as much as Nani does given his style of play.
If Nani could re-find his pre-injury form, then he’d be a real asset back in United’s squad but how likely is that to happen? That being said, there is every chance Nani may want to leave United on a permanent deal, so we’ll have to wait and find out when he returns after his loan spell.
