Jurgen Klopp’s announcement that he will leave Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season has thrown a cloud of uncertainty over the Westfalenstadion.

Champions League finalists in 2013, Dortmund are going through a terrible season and currently sit 10th in the Bundesliga.

Their manager is leaving, their fans are unhappy and a number of their top players will likely be leaving in the summer.

It is an unfortunate situation for the club but Dortmund’s loss may be United’s gain. With Marcos Reus and Mats Hummels both linked with moves to Old Trafford this season, we asked our Twitter followers if Klopp’s exit will speed up any potential transfers:

Fans seem to be agreed that Reus and Hummels will leave Dortmund but whether they will both end up at United is another question.

Bayern Munich have been heavily linked with Reus and when they want a player, they get him more often than not. However, there is a growing sense that Hummels may well be lining up at Old Trafford next season. There have been numerous reports stating that the 26-year-old is Louis van Gaal’s top transfer target and Hummels has added fuel to the fire with several comments of his own.
