Angel di Maria is feeling good after another week’s training with Manchester United and insists he is ready for today’s game against Everton.
The Argentinian winger hasn’t started a Premier League game for Man United since Newcastle away back at the start of March and in the four games since his red card against Arsenal in the FA Cup, Di Maria has only played a total of 84 minutes.
His fall from the team has coincided with Juan Mata‘s return to form which hasn’t helped his chances of getting game time but United’s record signing will be desperate to return to the starting XI sooner rather than later.
The main question is whether Louis van Gaal has the same desire to see Di Maria back in his starting XI or if he is happy with his currently role playing on the periphery with cameo appearances.
Di Maria started off the season so well that he made himself one of the first names on the team sheet but it has been a steady decline for him since that purple patch of form.
It’s going to be an interesting last few games for Di Maria because there will be questions asked over his long term future if van Gaal continues to overlook him even when he is fit and available for selection.
