The trio all missed the game against Chelsea last weekend and fans hoped they would all be able to return but that’s proved not to be the case.
In more positive news, Daley Blind could return to the team. The Dutchman trained with Man United during the week having overcome the injury he sustained after a poor tackle from Vincent Kompany in the derby.
That being said, van Gaal has shown on more than one occasion this season that he is a man who doesn’t like to rush his players back from injury in case of aggravating the problem, so Blind won’t be used unless he is fit and has enough match rhythm for van Gaal.
Jonny Evans is also available once again for Man United having served his six game suspension and might be in contention to return thanks to Marcos Rojo and Phil Jones‘ injuries creating opportunities with gaps in the squad.
Robin van Persie made his return to action during the week with Man United’s U21s and he is likely to at least be named on the bench against Everton.
Rafael has been ruled out for the season with broken ribs so will obviously play no part this weekend but van Gaal confirmed Adnan Januzaj‘s ankle injury is not as heavy as first expected, so the Belgian midfielder could feature in the match day squad.
