Manchester United’s Andreas Pereira is set to miss the end of the Premier League season due to a training camp with Brazil’s U20s squad ahead of their participation in the World Cup this summer.
The 19-year-old will definitely miss Man United’s last two games of the season against Arsenal and Hull City but may well be absent for the trip to Crystal Palace on 9 May as well, depending on when he is travelling to Brazil’s training camp.
Already this season Pereira has missed some Premier League games because he has been away on international duty with Brazil and although van Gaal would want to keep him as close to the first-team squad to help him develop, being involved in this competition will really help him progress too.
Pereira might have only made a substitute appearance once in the Premier League this season but the fact van Gaal has named him on so many match day benches is indicative of his faith in the midfielder’s ability.

If Pereira can enjoy a strong summer with Brazil’s U20s and take some good form into the pre-season, there is every chance he can emerge as one of the youngsters to watch from the tour much like Reece James was last season.
