Manchester United’s potential 4-3-3 vs West Brom – Marcos Rojo returns

by Ben Topliss

Manchester United defender Paddy McNair performed admirably against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge earlier this month but he was found out against Everton last time out.

At fault for Everton’s first goal, McNair was generally given the runaround by Roberto Martinez’s side as they secured a 3-0 win.

It is harsh to single McNair out given he is still in the early stages of his development but Louis van Gaal will be hoping that Marcos Rojo is fit to replace him for the game against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.

The Argentine has been in and out of the team due to a couple of niggling injuries this season but United look far more solid defensively with him in the XI.

West Brom shouldn’t pose too much of a problem offensively at Old Trafford but fans will be much more confident of taking away a positive result with Rojo included.

Elsewhere, Luke Shaw could line up alongside Rojo at left-back for United. It was a tough match against Everton but the youngster really stood out despite the result.

It looks likely that Wayne Rooney will be injured for the clash after he hobbled off against Everton so Robin van Persie comes in to lead the attack.
