Andreas Pereira set to sign new Manchester United contract – report

Andreas Pereira is set to sign a new contract with Manchester United and reject interest from Paris St Germain, reports the Mail Online’s Simon Jones.

The 19-year-old is out of contract this summer and has already rejected an initial offer from Man United but reports now suggest he is ready to agree a deal and commit his future to Man United.

Louis van Gaal has already shown his faith in Pereira this season giving him his senior debut as well as the fact he’s trained with the first-team all year long but it will be his long-term prospect which delayed any prospective new contract.

As a raw 19-year-old, Pereira doesn’t command a first-team position just yet but there aren’t many better places in European football than Old Trafford for a youngster to grow.

Van Gaal’s reputation and proven track record of bringing through some fantastic young players such as Andres Iniesta would no doubt have been a big attraction for Pereira as well.

Adnan Januzaj and James Wilson are two very recent examples of players who have worked their way through United’s U21s and into the first-team. If these reports are accurate, Pereira will soon be following in their footsteps towards the first-team.
