David de Gea very satisfied with his season but wants to continue improving

David de Gea is very happy with how his and Manchester United’s season has gone so far but is not resting on his laurels and wants to continue improving.

His transformation over the last two years has been remarkable and he is rightfully the stand-out candidate to be named Man United’s Players’ and Fans’ Player of the Year for the second season in succession.

De Gea’s future is going to be one of the main stories for Man United this summer but concentrating on how this year has gone, the 24-year-old is certainly satisfied with his own performances but is keen to keep getting better.

“Yes, I have [improved],” De Gea told Inside United.

“I’m very young and I always try to keep getting better, in every training session, every match, and I think it’s been a very productive season for me. I’m still growing as a player; I’m very satisfied with the season that I and we have had.”

De Gea deserves all the plaudits and accolades he gets because if United do secure a Champions League qualification spot, it will be largely down to his heroics in goal which have earned Louis van Gaal‘s side so many points this season.

Despite how well he has played, De Gea remains modest about the upcoming end of year awards where he is expected to clean up once again.

“Every player deserves
to win it,” he added.

“Everyone has done important things for the team. Everyone tries their absolute best to win and gives all they’ve got in training to help the group.”

He’s only 24 but De Gea is such an outstanding goalkeeper already and fans are desperate for Man United to hold onto him this summer, something which could prove very difficult if Real Madrid come calling.
