Rooney, Falcao and Van Persie ready for Crystal Palace

Radamel Falcao, Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie all took part in full training today for Manchester United ahead of this weekend’s game against Crystal Palace.

With Daley Blind and Luke Shaw both available and likely to play in their natural roles as a central midfielder and left-back, the trio of striker’s will likely be vying for one spot up front.

Rooney surely remains the stand-out choice for Louis van Gaal. He has gone off the boil somewhat thanks to being pushed back into midfield at points but he is still United’s best striker this season.

As for Falcao and Van Persie, their indifferent campaigns won’t fill fans with much faith that they can turn it around and get back among the goals with only a few games left in the season:

Having Falcao and Van Persie on the bench looks great on paper but they really need to turn their fortunes around to be of any use to Van Gaal.

So long as Rooney is fit, he will remain United’s first choice striker and until his team-mates start scoring on a regular basis, that is unlikely to change.
