New Manchester United signing Memphis Depay was given a rousing send-off from PSV fans as he played his last home game for the Eredivisie side on Sunday.
The 21-year-old agreed a deal to move to Old Trafford last week and gave his adoring Dutch supporters the perfect goodbye, scoring a superb free-kick in a 2-0 win.
Depay has been at the Eindhoven club since 2006, making his first team debut in 2011, and really established himself in the side last season.
The attacker now has 22 goals Eredivisie goals to his name this season, impressive given he is far from being an out-and-out striker, and Sunday saw him fire home his seventh free-kick of the season.
With plenty of excitement surrounding his arrival at Old Trafford, it appears there is equal excitement in Holland regarding his big money move.
Given the likes of PSV understand they can’t hold on to their best players forever, the Dutch side were graceful and appreciative towards Depay, giving him a superb standing ovation throughout the game.
With Depay now a full-time Dutch international, starring in the World Cup under Louis van Gaal, the majority back in Holland will want to see him do well at United and continue his good form with the struggling national team..
