Manchester United’s potential 4-3-3 vs Arsenal – Robin van Persie starts

by Ben Topliss

Manchester United striker Robin van Persie missed last weekend’s game against Crystal Palace but he will be eager to play against former club Arsenal on Sunday.

The Dutchman has gone through a tough season at Old Trafford and there have been murmurs that Louis van Gaal is considering selling him in the summer.

What better way to hit back at his critics than by putting in a good performance against Arsenal, who he left in 2012.

Wayne Rooney hobbled off against Palace and Radamel Falcao is currently misfiring, so Louis van Gaal may well hand van Persie a spot in the starting XI this weekend.

Elsewhere, Juan Mata may continue his role on the right hand side of United’s attack following his successful penalty against Palace.

Angel di Maria will be chomping at the bit to end the season strongly but there are question marks over the Argentine’s fitness.

Luke Shaw has also had a difficult time with injuries but he will be hoping he can make a swift return after picking up a knock at Selhurst Park.
