Subs: Valdes, Blackett, McNair, Di Maria, Januzaj, van Persie, Wilson

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has made two changes to his side for the game against Arsenal this afternoon.

Marcos Rojo and Radamel Falcao come in for Luke Shaw and Wayne Rooney, who are both injured.

The inclusion of Falcao is particularly interesting as Robin van Persie and James Wilson have to settle for a place on the substitute’s bench.

Elsewhere, Juan Mata and Ashley Young retain their places on the wing for United, with Angel di Maria watching from the sidelines.

In the absence of Rooney, Chris Smalling captains United at Old Trafford. It is good to see van Gaal place so much faith in Smalling following what has been a highly impressive season for the centre-back. It will be a difficult game against Arsenal but United will be confident of getting the three points in front of their own fans.
