Manchester United’s Ander Herrera thanks fans following Arsenal draw

Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera has thanked fans for their support this season following the 1-1 draw against Arsenal on Sunday.

Man United went 1-0 up in their final home game of the campaign thanks to Herrera’s strike but a late Tyler Blackett own goal salvaged a point for the Gunners.

Herrera was superb during the game, particularly during the first half, and he has firmly established himself as a fans’ favourite at the club.

The Spaniard was disappointed not to win against Arsenal but backed United to improve next season.

In any other year, this season would have gone down as a resounding failure for United.

However, the club was left in tatters by David Moyes last year so Louis van Gaal has done a good job at steadying the ship.

It was vital that United qualified for the Champions League and they have done exactly that. The task for van Gaal now is to build on these foundations ahead of an assault on the Premier League title.
