There was a lot of negative talk surrounding a potential new contract for Ashley Young in recent weeks, but the winger continues to silence his critics.
After claiming assists for both goals against Crystal Palace last week, Young again was the provider from the left for Ander Herrera to fire United ahead.
Young had Hector Bellerin on toast all game, regularly cutting inside the Spaniard and forcing chances for his teammates.
His best performance of the season arguably came in the recent 4-2 Manchester derby victory, but supporters were clear in their view that Young was the team’s best performer once again vs Arsenal.
What's been most impressive for me, is that, LvG has transformed Young into a new player and stuck by his 'philosophy'. Good going.

Compelling case for Ashley Young for United player of the year. Has been our best player in pretty much every big game this season.

Well played Young again even though some doughnuts on here want him sold.

With Memphis Depay soon arriving, it appears it will be Young’s place that comes under threat but it’s hard for anyone to argue that Young would deserve to be dropped.
With makeshift winger Juan Mata more suitable to a central role, he could drop out but Depay is far more suited to playing on the left.
Whatever happens, United have plenty of options out wide next season with Nani also potentially returning.
