The girlfriend of Manchester United keeper David de Gea, Edurne Garcia, played dumb when asked about the future of the 24-year-old during an interview on her forthcoming Eurovision performance.
Edurne had previously answered trivial questions about things such as the dress she had chosen to wear.
The interview began to get awkward when she was asked about the future of De Gea, who has been repeatedly linked with a move to Real Madrid.
Edurne ignored the question and eventually complained that her earpiece wasn’t working before walking off.
When asked about de Gea, she replied: “The truth is I’m so happy to be here at Eurovision.
She added: “I can’t hear anything. I’m here to talk about Eurovision and about my song. I’m one of the favourites.”
Unfortunately, the singer then gestured that someone was calling her, waved goodbye and left.
There have been numerous suggestions that Edurne is the reason behind De Gea’s reluctance to sign a new deal and the incident will only serve to heighten the speculation surrounding the potential transfer. It would come as a bitter blow for Man United fans if they were to lose De Gea but it would be hard to deny the Spaniard a move which would allow him to be closer to his loved ones.
