Hull City vs Manchester United: Predicted XI – Victor Valdes starts

by Sam Peoples

37 games, plenty of goals, ups, downs, disappointments and joyous moments later, Manchester United head to Hull City in the final Premier League fixture of the season this weekend.

With the all-important top four spot already secured and Arsenal out of Man United’s reach due to an unassailable points lead, there is no pressure on Louis van Gaal‘s side on Sunday.

It almost feels like an exhibition game from United’s perspective but Hull City will fight to the death as they still have a slim chance at avoiding relegation.

However, Van Gaal doesn’t strike you as a manager who is prepared to take his foot off the gas, regardless of the context of the game, and he’ll want United to come away with three points to end the season on a high.

Unfortunately, David de Gea‘s injury means he could miss the last game of the year and Victor Valdes could step into his place, meaning we may well have already seen the last of Spanish Dave in a United shirt but we’re trying not to think about that.
