Manchester United’s potential 4-3-3 vs Hull City – Tom Thorpe starts

by Ben Topliss

Tom Thorpe has had to be patient for his first-team opportunity at Manchester United but he may well start against Hull City this weekend.

With nothing at stake for Man United, Louis van Gaal would be wise to give his youngsters a chance to impress.

Players such as Paddy McNair, James Wilson and Tyler Blackett have all made the step up this season but Thorpe has so far been left out.

There are many supporters who rate the 22-year-old higher than both McNair and Blackett but he seems to be a forgotten man at Old Trafford.

A born leader, it would be fantastic to see Thorpe to finally get a chance against Hull.

Elsewhere, Wayne Rooney will be hopeful of recovering from injury in time to finish the campaign strongly.

However, David de Gea may well miss out with a hamstring complaint so Victor Valdes should start in goal after making his first-team debut against Arsenal last week.
