FC Twente are hopeful of selling 17-year-old winger Bilal Ould-Chikh to Manchester United in order to alleviate some of their financial worries, according to MailOnline.
Twente are looking to stave off creditors and are preparing to sell striker Luc Castaignos to Swansea for a cut-price fee.
Netherlands U19 international Ould-Chikh is said to have a bright future having already broken into Twente’s first-team.
Scouts from Man United and Bayern Munich were impressed by the player during the U17 European Championship earlier this year.
AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham Hotspur have also cast an eye over Ould-Chikh over the course of the campaign.
If United were to sign him, it may suit both parties to loan him back to Twente for a season in order to aid his development.
United have already signed a number of young players this term, with the club making 16-year-old Ilias Moutha Sebtaoui their second summer signing this week.
That being said, there is always room for more talented youngsters and Ould-Chikh would certainly be welcomed at the club.
Recent European imports such as Adnan Januzaj and Andreas Pereira show that although United’s focus should always be on homegrown talents, there’s plenty of success to be had by investing in talent brought to the club as well.
