Fans’ view: Would you be happy if Manchester United signed Morgan Schneiderlin?

by Ben Topliss

It’s no secret that Louis van Gaal is looking for a midfielder this summer so it was inevitable that Manchester United were going to be linked with Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin.

The Frenchman has enjoyed a fine season at St Mary’s and recently revealed his desire to play in the Champions League.

Although Man United have also been linked with the likes of Paul Pogba and Marco Veratti, they could certainly do worse than bring Schneiderlin in.

We asked our Twitter followers for their thoughts on whether or not the 25-year-old would be a good signing:

Crucially for United, Schneiderlin has proven himself to be a top-class player in the Premier League.

Angel di Maria and Radamel Falcao arrived at Old Trafford last summer with big reputations but both players failed to adapt to the English game and disappointed as a result.

Schneiderlin would have no problem slotting straight into the squad before hitting the ground running. However, fans will know not to get too excited about a potential transfer until the player signs on the dotted line.
