Carlos Bacca’s agent has spoken out regarding recent speculation linking his client with a move away from Sevilla.
Bacca scored twice for Sevilla as they won their second Europa League title in as many years last month.
The Colombian has scored 34 times in 71 appearances for the Spanish side following a 2013 move from Club Brugge.
Following his Europa League heroics, Bacca has been attracting plenty of attention from some of the bigger clubs in the world and his agent felt it was time to clarify some recent speculation.
Speaking to LaRoma24, Sergio Barila said : “I think Carlos has more chances of playing in Serie A than any other competition.
“First we need to talk to Sevilla and we respect the club.
“If the player is put on the market, we will evaluate the offers.
“Carlos wants to stay in Europe, and next year Sevilla play in the Champions League and he would be happy to play there with Sevilla.”
Manchester United have been linked with Bacca prior to his excellent performance in the Europa League final and that speculation has understandably continued since.
Robin van Persie’s future at Manchester United has been thrown into the air with recent comments about his “difficult” situation at the club.
Louis van Gaal toyed with various formations last season and was missing an out and out number nine in his squad when Van Persie went down with an injury and Radamel Falcao failed to find any form.
Bacca, who compares favourably to Falcao, could be an excellent signing based on recent performances and his goalscoring rate in Spain’s top division. He is a certified goal scorer and, at 28 years of age, is entering the prime of his career.
