Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin has been heavily linked with Manchester United over the last week following reports from InfoSport in France which suggested the midfielder was on Louis van Gaal‘s radar this summer.
Today, Sportsvibe have published a story saying a deal for Schneiderlin has been agreed. Great news, right? Well, not so fast.
Unfortunately, a quick look at the trail quashes the excitement almost immediately.
Sportsvibe cite the Metro as the source for their reports, the London newspaper then cite themselves and within that story we find their source is the Daily Star. Where does the Daily Star link to? The initial reports from InfoSport which we covered. They do not suggest a deal has been agreed but simply that Man United were closer to agreeing a move for Schneiderlin than Arsenal.
What we can confirm about Schneiderlin’s future is that he is considering his options. With Arsenal, Man United and potentially other clubs around Europe interested in his signature, there is every chance he will be leaving Southampton this year in order to play Champions League football.
However, Sportsvibe have jumped the gun by suggesting a deal has already been agreed. While the interest is genuine, nothing has gone past that stage just yet. As you were.
