New Manchester United signing Memphis Depay has assured fans he will continue to score goals at Old Trafford despite the higher level of the Premier League.
Memphis scored 22 goals in 30 league appearances for PSV Eindhoven last season as he helped them win the Eredivisie title.
The Dutchman is widely regarded to be one of the brightest young talents in world football and supporters have been getting excited about his arrival.
Memphis insisted he has the ability to continue his goalscoring exploits in the Premier League.
When asked about how he plans to adapt, Memphis said: “The level of the Premier League will make it harder for me to score and create opportunities.
“But on the other hand I will have better team-mates at Manchester United so it is hard to compare.
“However, if you ask me I would have scored 15 of the 22 goals that I scored this season in England.”
The player definitely has the confidence to succeed but Louis van Gaal will remind him he has a lot of work to do if he is to make an impact at United.
After all, the likes of Angel di Maria were often left out by van Gaal last term following a number of sub-par displays. Memphis has the talent but he will also need to bring the right attitude to Old Trafford if he is to endear himself to fans.
