Memphis Depay returns to Netherlands training after recovering from foot injury

New Manchester United signing Memphis Depay has recovered from a foot injury and has returned to training with the Netherlands.

The 21-year-old picked up the injury during the 4-3 defeat at the hands of the USA last week but was never considered a serious doubt to play against Latvia on Friday, according to Voetbal International.

Memphis has only missed ten games during his three years in professional football.

The most significant complaint he had was a groin injury which kept him out of action for 37 days at the beginning of last season.

Louis Van Gaal will be paying close attention to his players during the summer as he looks to prevent a repeat of Man United’s injury crisis last term.

38 separate injury incidents marred the opening half of the season for United fans and that included knocks to many of their new signings. The hope is that the curse doesn’t spread to Memphis as United plot an assault on the Premier League title next year.
