Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has admitted the Spanish side are interested in signing Juventus’ Paul Pogba.
Pogba, who helped Juventus reach the Champions League final last season, is considered to be one of the most exciting young talents in world football.
The Frenchman’s agent has made it clear on numerous occasions that he wants to take the next step in his career and Manchester United, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Chelsea are all said to be keen on bringing him in.
However, Madrid have made the first move in what is likely to be a long-running saga by confirming their interest in the player.
Speaking about Pogba, Zidane said: ”Many clubs are interested in him and Real Madrid are among those. It is inevitable that the talented players affect all the big clubs. For their growth, it is important for them to be around a healthy environment.
“I think Pogba is a fantastic player. What I like most is that he can do everything. He is a complete player, who can also score and is not ashamed to go forward. His quality is extraordinary.”
United will do their best to persuade Pogba to come back to Old Trafford following his departure from the club as a youngster back in 2012 but the lure of Madrid often proves to be too much.
After all, David de Gea has so far refused to comment on speculation linking him with the ten-time champions of Europe.
