Manchester United working hard on Old Trafford pitch ahead of 2015/16 season

There will be plenty of change at Manchester United this season in terms of players coming and going, and Old Trafford is getting itself a makeover too.

The pitch at Old Trafford is being completely relaid ahead of the the 2015/16 season and Louis van Gaal will be keen to make sure that United are just as strong on the new turf as they were on the old turf last year.

United’s home record was excellent in the 2014/15 Premier League season: Van Gaal steered his side to 44 points from a possible 67 (P19 W14 D2 L3) with only Manchester City (45) and Chelsea (49) bettering that record.

It was a marked improvement on United’s dismal home form under David Moyes where they earned 30 points from a possible 67 (P19 W9 D3 L7).

Home form is so important for having a successful season and it is the cornerstone of any title winning campaign. As United want to challenge for the title again next year, Old Trafford must once again be made into the fortress which it was under Sir Alex Ferguson for so long.
