Edinson Cavani has pledged his future to Paris Saint Germain despite being linked with a move away this summer.
Cavani has been at the French Champions since 2013 but has been living in the shadow of main man Zlatan Ibrahimovic for much of that time.
He has scored 34 goals in 65 games for the team but does not enjoy playing in the wide forward role where Laurent Blanc has deployed him for much of the season.
He had previously stated his displeasure at being played out of position by the manager but has said he will remain at the club despite the speculation linking him away.
“Everything related to my private life, family, I’m happy,” he said.
“I feel very well in Paris, which I showed interest, that gave me confidence. I hope I can make it. I will give everything for them. This year is completed. It motivates more. I am very well there and we hope everything will continue as well.”
Cavani was seen as a very good replacement for Radamel Falcao or Robin van Persie, should the Dutch striker move away in the summer.
His comments do seem to pour cold water on those rumours for the time being but anything can happen in football as we all know.
