Manchester United’s Andreas Pereira has thanked Brazil fans for their support during the U20 World Cup.
Pereira scored in the final against Serbia but his side eventually lost 2-1.
It was a bitter pill to swallow for the 19-year-old but he can be proud of what was a magnificent tournament for him.
The youngster expressed his disappointment at not winning the competition but thanked Brazil fans for their continued support:
Pereira will now take a well deserved break before linking up with his Man United teammates during the club’s pre-season tour of the United States.
He played a key part for Brazil during the tournament and the experience should prove invaluable as he looks to force his way into Louis van Gaal’s thinking next term.
Pereira has bags of potential and the sky is really the limit for him in terms of what he can achieve. Despite the impending arrival of Memphis Depay, there should be plenty of first-term opportunities for him next season.
