Andreas Pereira has highlighted Michael Carrick and Ander Herrera as two players who have helped him in his development at Manchester United.

Pereira is fresh from an excellent U20s World Cup which he capped off with a stunning solo goal against Serbia in the final, despite eventually losing 2-1.

He might have pushed his way back into Louis van Gaal‘s thinking following his good displays at the tournament and will now look to build on a successful year with Man United’s U21s.

In a recent interview with, Pereira was asked who has helped him the most in his development at Manchester United.

Michael Carrick and Ander Herrera perhaps but all the players help me out a lot. Especially all the midfielders because I play there.” Pereira responded.

Michael Carrick has played in the Premier League for 16 years and plays the game with a discipline that many players never acquire. With Pereira learning from him, it can only mean good things for the youngster.

Ander Herrera has been a revelation since joining United and Pereira can pick up many of Herrera’s habits that could help his game. Herrera is a versatile midfielder that can go box-to-box while also opening up defences with his creative passing and putting in tackles when necessary.

If Pereira can learn from both of these players, he can become a vital part of United’s first-team for years to come.
