Manchester United close to completing deal for Saidy Janko with Celtic

Manchester United’s Saidy Janko is closing in on a deal to join SPL side Celtic.

The 19-year-old is reportedly being eyed by Celtic as another summer signing following the arrival of Dedryck Boyata from Manchester City.

There is some confusion as to whether any deal for Janko would be permanent. The Scottish Sun report that it is a potential loan deal being lined up but the Daily Mail insist it is a permanent move.

While it would not be a surprise to see Janko being loaned out for a full season next year, it’d be a shock if he left on a permanent deal.

Janko has progressed well since joining the club two years ago and enjoyed a fruitful loan spell at Bolton Wanderers in the second half of the 2014/15 season, so selling him on a permanent basis would seem a very premature decision this summer.

Already this summer United have released five players from their contracts and signed Memphis Depay, so there has been movement but Janko would certainly be a surprising deal if it went through.

Janko may be very unpolished and raw but he has plenty of potential in him, so hopefully any deal which is completed is simply to get him some more time out on loan.
