The agent of Atletico Madrid’s Arda Turan has confirmed the midfielder will make a decision on his future this week.
Arda is reportedly looking for a change of scene and Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester United and Paris Saint-German are all said to be looking at him.
Man United have several players who can play in Arda’s position but Louis van Gaal may find the temptation to bring the Turk in too good to resist.
Arda’s agent, Ahmet Bulut, believes that the player is making the right decision to leave Atletico and that his future will become more clear by the end of the week.
“We will not make a formal announcement until he signs. Arda will decide where he wants to play next season in the next four days. Our decision to leave Atletico was a big shock to them, they didn’t want Arda to go,” he said.
“When we sat down to look at the plan for Arda’s career and thought about what he had gained at Atletico over the four years we came to the conclusion that leaving Atletico was the right thing to do.”
Arda has played a key role in Atletico’s success in recent years having built a reputation as an energetic and adaptable midfielder.
United aren’t short of attacking midfielders but the club should certainly consider their options when a player of Arda’s quality becomes available. However, it appears that van Gaal has prioritised a deep-lying midfielder, with Morgan Schneiderlin and Bastian Schweinsteiger both heavily linked with moves to Old Trafford in recent weeks.
