Arda Turan’s agent has denied claims that the midfielder has agreed a transfer to Manchester United.
The Turk’s representative, Ahmed Bulut, had previously stated that his client had a preference for moving to England in the next stage of his career.
Arda, 28, has two years to run on his Atletico Madrid contract and is said to believe that, at his age, it is the right time to make a move to the Premier League.
Bulut cleared up the confusion regarding a supposed deal to Man United and says that Arda’s future will be confirmed on Friday.
“Arda has not met with Manchester United or passed a medical. When you find out who his new team are on Friday you will all agree that we made the right choice,” he said.
“We want to clarify that, at this moment, there is a lot of pressure, but we do not want to make a formal declaration before he has signed. But yes, in the next four days, Arda will decide which club he plays for next season.”
Arda is a brilliant player but there is a question mark over whether or not he could fit into United’s team. Arda is an attacking midfielder, who operates on the right wing for Atletico Madrid. He can play centrally but does not feature there regularly for Diego Simeone’s side.
He might make the switch to central midfield, where he could play a more reserved role. This might appeal to Arda as quotes from him last week suggested a reason he wanted to leave Atletico was because the coach made him run too much.
