Former Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao has completed the formalities of his move to Chelsea, according to a report from the Guardian.
The 29-year-old is expected to sign on a one-year loan deal with an option to buy before linking up with Jose Mourinho’s side on their pre-season tour of North America.
It is easy to see why some United fans have mixed feelings about the Colombian’s switch to Stamford Bridge.
With Jose Mourinho adamant that he wants to “help Falcao get back to his level”, the likelihood of a partnership between Diego Costa and Falcao up front looks a real possibility.
If Mourinho can help Falcao recapture the form that netted him a hat-trick against Chelsea in 2011, then the Blues may just have found a player who can take them to the next level.
However, there were times last season when Falcao was desperately poor for United and supporters rarely saw glimpses of the player he once was. The 29-year-old will head to Stamford Bridge determined to prove his doubters wrong.
