Nani agrees personal terms with Fenerbahce ahead of Manchester United exit – report

Manchester United winger Nani looks set to leave the club after agreeing personal terms with Fenerbahce, according to a report from the Guardian.

Nani, a Champions League winner with Man United in 2008, enjoyed a successful loan spell at Sporting Lisbon last season, contributing seven goals in 27 appearances in the Premeira Liga for the Portuguese outfit.

Despite this, there has been increasing speculation over the 28-year-old’s future at Old Trafford, with Louis van Gaal reportedly unconvinced by the winger.

Some United fans may be upset to hear of Nani’s imminent departure from the club, as on his day he was virtually unplayable.

However, if a title-winning campaign is to happen next season, van Gaal will have no time for sentiment as he looks to improve his squad. The big money signing of Memphis Depay proves that.

Although Nani is somewhat of a fans’ favourite at Old Trafford, his lack of consistency often led to wasted opportunities and frustration amongst United fans.

While there is no doubting the Portuguese’s ability, van Gaal will be prioritising consistency in United’s performances next season.
