Manchester United transfer roundup: Pep Guardiola comments on Bastian Schweinsteiger and Angel di Maria

Here is the latest Manchester United transfer news and gossip.

Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola had his say on the transfer speculation surrounding Bastian Schweinsteiger and Angel di Maria on Thursday.

The Spaniard insisted Schweinsteiger must make up his own mind about whether or not he wants to join Man United while also dismissing suggestions that Bayern could sign Di Maria.

Meanwhile, AS claimed that United have lowered their asking price for David de Gea from €45m to €35m. The club have been playing hardball over the player’s potential move to Real Madrid so it would be odd for them to ‘give up’ now.

Another player who could be leaving United this summer is Robin van Persie. According to former Netherlands striker Pierre van Hooijdonk, the 31-year-old is being forced out by United and the club have been trying to garner interest for him for several months.

In terms of incomings, former Madrid president Ramon Calderon has insisted that Sergio Ramos would only leave the Spanish side for United. The central defender has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford after falling out with the Madrid hierarchy over a new contract.

Finally, reports from the Telegraph have suggested that United have had a £20m bid for Morgan Schneiderlin rejected by Southampton. The Saints are said to be holding out for £25m.
