Sergio Ramos breaks silence over reports of Manchester United negotiations

Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos has denied having any negotiations with Manchester United or any other club to discuss a summer transfer.

The 29-year-old centre-back has been the subject of intense speculation with Man United and the situation regarding him may have played a role in David de Gea‘s future not yet being resolved.

However, when asked by Spanish television channel Cuatro TV about his future, Ramos insisted he had not entered talks with another club.

“I am not negotiating with anyone,” he said.

Given that it would be Ramos’ agent who negotiates with either Madrid or United rather than himself, it doesn’t particularly come as too much of a surprise to hear he has not negotiated with anyone.

That beings aid, with Man United’s pre-season training starting next week in earnest and De Gea set to be back in Manchester, it indicates any deal is not close to being completed.

As neither Real Madrid nor United want to sell Ramos and De Gea, fans expected any deal involving either player to be long and drawn out which is exactly what has happened.
