Fenerbahce S.K. are confident they can lure Robin van Persie away from Old Trafford this summer.
Sky Sports say the club’s director has reportedly travelled to England to discuss a potential transfer for the 31-year-old days after fellow team-mate Nani also joined the Turkish outfit.
Amid rumours of Louis van Gaal‘s intention to bring another striker to Old Trafford, van Persie’s future has come under increased speculation in recent weeks, with the striker unsure of his long-term in Manchester.
Gianluca Di Marzio now insists Van Persie’s move to Fenerbahce is ‘almost done’, pending a few details.

Manchester United fans know that, even when fit, Van Persie experienced a largely peripheral role last season and found himself behind the likes of Wayne Rooney and even Radamel Falcao in the pecking order at the club.
With Van Persie’s performances dwindling, Van Gaal’s youth policy will likely see him hand more opportunities to talented youngster James Wilson, who most fans feel has a bright future ahead of him at Man United.
If Van Persie is to leave the club, it will be a sad day for United fans, who will remember the incredible contribution the Dutchman gave during Sir Alex Ferguson’s last season as manager.
The forward netted a remarkable 26 goals in his first season at United, fittingly ending Ferguson’s trophy-laden tenure at the club with another Premier League trophy.
Supporters will feel that for that season alone, Van Persie paid back his price-tag and, if he is to leave for Turkey, he will do so with the full blessing of the Old Trafford faithful.
