Manchester United have confirmed that they have reached an agreement with Bayern Munich over the transfer of Bastian Schweinsteiger.
The German World Cup winner has a wealth of experience at the very highest level having won practically everything there is to win with Bayern and the national team.
Louis van Gaal knows him well after the pair worked together at Bayern between 2009 and 2011.
There had been countless rumours and speculation about the switch but Man United have now officially announced Schweinsteiger will join the club:

The deal is subject to a medical and personal terms. Schweinsteiger is set to become the first German to ever play for United’s first-team.
There are some supporters who are concerned that the 30-year-old is past his best but Louis van Gaal will know exactly how to get the best out of him next term. United are also said to be in for Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin so there should be plenty of options in the middle of the park by the time the new Premier League season kicks off in August.
