Fenerbahce have announced the signing of Robin van Persie from Manchester United.
Van Persie, 31, flew into Istanbul at the weekend to a raucous reception from Fenerbahce fans and successfully passed his medical on Monday, allowing him to complete his move to the Turkish side.
He leaves United with one Premier League trophy under his belt from what was an incredible debut season at the club back in 2012/13 and although he wasn’t able to replicate that sort of form in the following two years, he leaves plenty of fond memories behind at United.
Labelling Van Persie as a ‘legend’ after one incredible season might seem a bit of an overstretch to some fans but the impact he had on that year was nothing short of phenomenal.

Van Persie has the opportunity to become one of the best players in the Turkish league following his move there and United fans would be delighted to see him back among the goals again unless Fenerbahce are drawn in the Champions League qualifier, then we wish him the best of bad luck.
