Victor Valdes in talks over Valencia loan – report

by Ben Topliss

Manchester United keeper Victor Valdes is in talks with Valencia over a season-long loan move to the Mestalla, according to Goal.

Valdes’ future has been the subject of speculation recently after he was left out of Man United’s squad for the pre-season tour of the United States.

The player himself tweeted to tell fans he was working hard ahead of next season but there is still confusion over where his future lies.

Valdes’ agent, Gines Carvajal, has reportedly entered negotiations with Valencia over a year-long loan deal which would effectively end his United career as he is six months into a 18-month contract.

Louis van Gaal is instead said to be keen on Argentinian keeper Sergio Romero as a replacement for Valdes.

The Spaniard is one of the most decorated players of his generation having won a multitude of trophies but it appears that Louis van Gaal is unconvinced.

United supporters may be pleased to hear about the news as it suggests that David de Gea could be staying at the club after all despite being strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid.
